I’ve decided to move all updates of my 101/1001 Projects to my (new) personal blog:
www.gorgeousinspirations.com/deardiar
Thanks
I crossed these things off in Jun ‘08 (based on chronological order):
28. Visit the Public Library again, at least once a month, for 3 consecutive months. | April, May, June 2008
The original reason why I had this idea #28 was because I had so little time to go to the Public Library, as teaching many classes—morning to evening—consumed much of my free time.
But I started visiting the PL again in April, not long after I quit my teaching job (so in a month, I went there for more than once).
9. Affiliate with Amazon. | 8 June 2008
I used the a-store facility Amazon offers, not for my personal use, but for my projected-to-be-profitable Gorgeous Inspirations.
You can visit The Gorgeous Inspirations aStore here.
57. Participate in at least 1 virtual community. | 10 June 2008
I joined this also not for personal use. I’m focusing on Gorgeous Inspirations, since word-of-mouth marketing doesn’t always succeed. Oh, it’s a national virtual community, actually: Detikinet Forum.
75. Submit at least 3 pieces to printed publication(s).
FYI, writing has always been a part of my life, that’s why I wrote some plans in regards to writing (and blogging).
I sent 3 pieces, but until now none of them are published (yet?):
- 7 February ‘08, I sent an opinion article (“Simpatisan Parpol Pemicu Karbondioksida?”) to a local newspaper. After making sure that the paper didn’t showcase the article whatsoever, I turned to an online citizen newspaper, Kabar Indonesia. You can read the opinion article by following through this link (Bahasa Indonesia).
- 14 May ‘08, I sent out a short story to a national woman’s magazine, Femina. Well, haven’t heard anything from them.
- 10 June ‘08, a short story to English-language newspaper, The Jakarta Post. No news. Zzilch. Nothing.
94. At one sitting, make a list in my journal of at least 50 things I have learned from my previous relationship. | 10 June 2008
I did this thing as a kind of evaluation so that my current relationship that’s about to be a marriage would work out well or even better than the previous one. Of course, I can’t reveal all 50 stuff. Let me just give you these three:
- I played hard-to-get with him (and look what happened then).
- Don’t be too serious. Have some sense of humor, please!
- He knows exactly the way you laugh, and that’s the thing he misses most when he’s away.
100. Write in my journal every day for at least 7 consecutive days. | 10-16 June 2008
This resolution popped up as I noticed my journal had been pretty empty. As a kind of person who loves documentation stuff, a written journal is important for me. But in fact, through 10-16 June, I only wrote a few lines each day. Well, at least I tried.
32. Learn simple yoga by myself and put my self-learning into practice for at least 7 consecutive days. | 10-16 June 2008
I’m more or less interested in doing yoga, yet I feel that I don’t possess a flexible body to do that. Then I searched for an easier one, and got a book named Tantra Yoga by Anand Krishna. The book is so very thick and I could only finish about the first ten pages (I know, that’s lame). I even only practiced these three very basic yoga moves: Padmasana, Moola-bandha, and Parvatasana.
